Affordable Hotels in Downtown San Francisco for a Short Stay?

I’m planning a quick trip to San Francisco and am looking for budget-friendly hotel options in the downtown area. Since I’ll only be there for a couple of days, I want to stay somewhere that makes it easy to explore the city.

I’d appreciate any recommendations for hotels that are affordable and conveniently located near public transportation and major attractions. If you’ve had a good experience at a budget hotel downtown, please share your thoughts! Also, were there any nearby spots or hidden gems that you enjoyed? Thanks in advance for your help!

Check out the Hotel Nikko—it’s not the cheapest, but keeps you close to Union Square and the cable cars. Also, if you don’t mind a bit of a walk, there’s a great little Vietnamese spot called Pho 2000 nearby. Perfect for a quick, tasty meal!

Check out the HI San Francisco Downtown Hostel! It’s super affordable, and being close to public transport makes it easy to get around. Plus, you’re just a short walk away from Union Square and the cable cars. For hidden gems, don’t miss the Ferry Building Marketplace for some great eats!
