Average Daily Costs for a Trip to Amsterdam

Planning a trip to Amsterdam soon? It’s important to figure out a realistic daily budget since expenses can add up quickly with all the attractions and experiences available. Have any fellow travelers tracked their daily spending while exploring the city?

I’m particularly interested in insights regarding accommodation, food, and local transportation. What did you deem essential, and are there any expenses you found worth skipping? Did you manage to stay within your budget, or did you splurge on certain experiences? Any tips or stories would be greatly appreciated!

When I went, I found that public transport passes are a lifesaver—they saved me a ton on getting around. For food, grabbing lunch from street vendors was not just cheap but also super tasty! I did splurge on a canal tour, which was worth every cent, but I skipped some of the pricey museums and just enjoyed the parks instead.

When I went, I budgeted around €100 a day which covered decent hostel stays, meals from street vendors, and tram rides. It was tight but manageable! If you want to save more, consider skipping pricey attractions and exploring parks or free museums instead.
