Can Flight Tickets Be Transferred to Someone Else?

I’m gearing up for my trip to Japan, but I’ve run into a bit of a snag with my flight tickets. I originally booked a round trip for myself, but now I need to change my plans due to unexpected circumstances. I’ve heard varying opinions on whether it’s possible to transfer a flight ticket to another person. It seems like some airlines allow it while others are pretty strict about their policies.

Has anyone here gone through this process? What steps did you take to make sure the transfer went smoothly? Are there specific airlines that are known for being more flexible with ticket transfers? I’m really hoping there’s a way to work this out, so any tips would be greatly appreciated! What have your experiences been like?

I dealt with this last year with Delta, and it was a hassle. They wouldn’t let me transfer my ticket at all, but I’ve heard Southwest is better about it. Have you tried calling your airline directly? Sometimes you can get different info that way.

I had a similar issue last year with a flight to Europe. I was able to transfer my ticket, but it took a few calls to customer service, and they charged a decent fee. I’d recommend checking the airline’s website for their policy; some low-cost carriers are super strict about this!
