Do tour agencies enhance the expat experience in London?

As an expat planning a trip to London, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options. There’s just so much to see and do! I’ve heard from friends that using a tour agency could help streamline my visit, but I’m on the fence about whether that’s the best route to take.

I love the idea of exploring historic landmarks at my own pace, but I’m also tempted by the thought of a guided tour that hits all the highlights. I’m really interested in hearing from anyone who has used a tour agency in London. Did you find it enriching, or did it limit your sense of adventure?

What advice do you have for making the most of a visit to the city, whether through a guided tour or solo exploration?

I get that! When I visited London, I did a mix of both. The guided tour was awesome for hitting the big spots like the Tower of London, but I loved wandering around neighborhoods on my own. It felt more personal and gave me time to discover hidden gems, like small cafés and street art. If you can, maybe try a tour for the highlights and then explore on your own after!

I went with a tour agency in London last year, and honestly, it helped me see a ton of stuff I wouldn’t have found on my own. They took me to some hidden gems along with major attractions. But I also made sure to carve out time to just wander around, which was super fun! Definitely do a mix if you can!
