Favorite Neighborhoods in Lisbon for Food Lovers?

I’ve been trying to figure out which neighborhoods in Lisbon are the best for foodies, and it’s proving to be quite a challenge! With so many areas known for their culinary delights, it’s hard to decide where to focus my time. I’m really hoping to find some local favorites and hidden gems, rather than just the typical tourist spots.

I’ve heard that Alfama, with its winding streets and fado music, is a must-see. However, I’ve also come across recommendations for the LX Factory, which is full of trendy eateries. I’d love to hear from anyone who has personal suggestions for neighborhoods that showcase authentic local cuisine. What are the can’t-miss places when exploring the food scene in Lisbon? Are there any standout restaurants or markets I should check out in these areas?

You should definitely hit up Mouraria! It’s not as touristy as Alfama but has some amazing traditional spots where you can find authentic dishes. Plus, there’s a bakery there called Manteigaria that has the best pastéis de nata—I’d recommend stopping by for a taste!
