Washington State is packed with incredible weekend getaway options, whether you’re seeking breathtaking nature or lively urban experiences. As someone who’s based in Austin, I find the Pacific Northwest to be a completely different and exciting destination. One of my most memorable trips was to the San Juan Islands, where I enjoyed stunning vistas, delicious fresh seafood, and the charm of small towns.
Another favorite of mine is Leavenworth, a picturesque Bavarian-style village surrounded by mountains. The local food scene is amazing, featuring delightful breweries and cozy restaurants that offer a fantastic culinary adventure. The hiking trails in the area are particularly breathtaking, especially during the fall when the foliage transforms into a vibrant tapestry of colors.
