I’ve been using Google Flights a lot lately for planning my trips, but I’m really curious about how the platform makes money. Is it primarily through advertising, or do they have partnerships with airlines and travel agencies that contribute to their revenue?
I sometimes wonder if using Google Flights actually saves us money, or if airlines are just paying Google to have their flights featured more prominently. With so many other booking sites out there, I’m interested in how Google sets itself apart profit-wise. What are your thoughts on this? Any insights would be great!
They make money mostly through ads and partnerships with airlines. When you search for flights, some listings might be pushed higher because those airlines are paying for that spot. I usually compare prices with a couple of other sites to see if I’m really getting the best deal, just to be safe!
It’s kind of interesting, but I think it’s a mix of both ads and partnerships for sure. Like, I’ve noticed certain airlines pop up more often, and I wonder if they’re paying for that visibility. But honestly, there are still better deals to be found elsewhere sometimes, so I don’t always trust just Google Flights.
