Is a tour agency the best option for expats to explore London?

Navigating London can feel daunting, especially for expats eager to immerse themselves in the city’s vibrant history and culture. While some expats recommend using tour agencies to help uncover local gems and key landmarks, others prefer the freedom of exploring on their own. Have any of you used a tour agency that caters specifically to expats?

Joining a guided tour can offer valuable insights and connections, making it an attractive option. However, I’m curious if it truly justifies the price when you could craft your own itinerary through some research. What have your experiences been with both group tours and solo exploration? Is it more enjoyable to travel with others or at your own pace?

I think it really depends on what you’re looking for. I went on a couple of tours early on, and it helped me find some cool spots I wouldn’t have known about otherwise. Have you thought about trying a mix of both, like doing a tour for the main sights and then exploring on your own afterward?

I’ve done both, and honestly, it really depends on what you want. The guided tours I tried helped me find some off-the-beaten-path places I wouldn’t have known, but sometimes just wandering around on my own felt way more liberating. Plus, I saved a bunch of cash exploring solo.
