With so much stunning scenery across Canada, many travelers are weighing their options for getting around. Train travel, especially with Via Rail, can be appealing, but is it truly worth the investment in time and money? I’ve come across varied opinions about Via Rail’s service and routes.
For those who have traveled on Via Rail, how would you describe your experience? I’m particularly curious about the routes—do the views live up to the expectations? How does traveling by train stack up against flying or driving? If you have any tips on the best times to travel or highlights along the way, please share! What hidden gems have you discovered during your Via Rail journeys?
I took a trip from Vancouver to Jasper last summer, and the views were absolutely breathtaking, especially when we passed through the Rocky Mountains. The train was pretty comfortable and gave me a chance to relax and enjoy the scenery without the stress of driving or airports. I’d say it’s worth it, especially if you can snag a window seat! Just keep in mind that it does take longer than flying.
I’ve taken a couple of trips on Via Rail and the views really can be breathtaking, especially on routes like the Canadian between Toronto and Vancouver. It’s definitely a slower way to travel, but if you’re not in a rush, it gives you a chance to soak in the landscape. Just pack some snacks and a good book to make the ride more enjoyable!
