Packing Tips for a 5-Day Hiking Trip in Portugal

I’m gearing up for a 5-day hiking adventure in Portugal and could use some packing advice. With all the stunning trails and unpredictable weather, I want to find a good balance between being well-prepared and not overloading my backpack.

What type of clothing do you think is best for the diverse climate in Portugal? Should I invest in any specialized gear, or will my regular hiking clothes be enough? Also, when it comes to food and water, how can I ensure I have enough without carrying too much extra weight?

Has anyone hiked in Portugal recently? What are your must-have items, and do you have any tips or common pitfalls to avoid?

I’ve hiked in Portugal a couple of times, and layering is key. A lightweight rain jacket and quick-dry clothing work awesome for the changing weather. As for food, those dehydrated meals are a lifesaver! They’re light, pack small, and save a ton of space. Just don’t forget a solid water filter for refills on the trail!
