Planning a road trip through Greece is exciting but can be a bit overwhelming with so many breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural experiences. I’m on the lookout for some of the best scenic drives that also give me a taste of local culture and notable sites along the way.

I’ve heard that the coastal roads from Athens to the Peloponnese are fantastic, but I’m curious about the inland routes too. Are there any hidden gems that might not be on most tourists’ radar? Additionally, how are the road conditions holding up in 2026, especially with recent changes in the area?

Definitely check out the route from Delphi to Meteora! The landscapes are stunning, and you’ll hit some cool local villages along the way. The roads seem pretty good this year, though watch out for a few potholes in remote areas. For stops, the little cafes in the mountain towns are worth it for a taste of home-cooked Greek meals.

The drive from Meteora to Delphi is stunning and definitely worth it. You’ll have amazing views of the mountains and can stop by some cool little villages along the way. Road conditions are pretty solid now too, just watch out for some narrow spots. Also, grab some local food at the tavernas—totally enhances the trip!
