Top Haunted Attractions in New England for Thrill-Seekers

If you’re planning a trip through New England this Halloween season, you’re in for a spooky adventure! I’m on the hunt for the best haunted attractions to add to my itinerary, but I want to make sure they’re truly worth my time.

I’ve heard Salem is a must-visit thanks to its witch trials history, and there are plenty of haunted houses in Massachusetts, but are they really the top spots? I’m particularly curious about ghost tours or historical sites that claim to be haunted—have any of you tested these out? If you only had a short time to explore, where should I start for the biggest thrills?

Also, if anyone knows of some hidden gems that might not be as famous but offer an unforgettable experience, I’d love to hear your recommendations! What’s your top pick for a haunted attraction in New England?

For a real thrill, definitely check out the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River! It’s super creepy and the whole vibe is just wild, especially if you take a late-night tour. Also, don’t sleep on the ghost tours in Newport—those are usually a hit and not as crowded. You’ll get some chills for sure!

If you haven’t been yet, definitely check out the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River! You can actually do overnight stays, and it’s got a super creepy vibe. Have you looked into any ghost tours in Portsmouth? I’ve heard they’re pretty interactive and fun!
