Top Tourist Attractions to Visit in Mexico City

I’m really excited about planning my trip to Mexico City! The rich culture and incredible food scene have me eager to explore, but with so many attractions to choose from, I could use some advice. Are the major historical sites like the Zócalo and Templo Mayor must-sees, or should I also look for some lesser-known spots?

I’ve heard a lot about the local markets and street food, so I want to make sure I strike a good balance between seeing the popular sights and immersing myself in the local vibe. For those of you who have visited, how did you combine these experiences? Were there any surprises or hidden gems that you found along the way? What’s your favorite way to enjoy both the touristy spots and the authentic side of Mexico City?

Definitely check out the Zócalo and Templo Mayor—those are iconic and really capture the city’s history. But also make time to hit up Mercado de la Merced for some amazing street food. You might discover some awesome local snacks you won’t find anywhere else!
