Looking for a weekend escape can be challenging, especially when you want something new and easy on the wallet. New Jersey is surrounded by so many unique spots, from beach towns to quaint small villages, that it can feel overwhelming trying to choose. What are some of your favorite destinations that offer both relaxation and a bit of adventure?

I’ve found that popular places can get really crowded, so I prefer to explore lesser-known gems that still have a lot to offer. Towns like Lambertville and Cape May are lovely, but they often don’t come to mind right away for travelers. Have any of you stumbled upon hidden gems or personal favorites that are perfect for a quick getaway? What makes those spots special to you?

If you’re looking for hidden gems, I’d recommend checking out the Delaware Water Gap area. It’s super chill with beautiful hikes and riverside spots, but doesn’t have the heavy foot traffic like some beach towns. Plus, you can grab some great local food at nearby towns like Milford.
