There are so many options for visiting Shimla that it can be overwhelming! The weather changes significantly throughout the year, making timing your trip crucial. While some friends suggest summer for its pleasant temperatures, others rave about the winter when the snow transforms the landscape into a winter wonderland.

Is late spring or early autumn truly the best time to explore local neighborhoods and enjoy various outdoor activities? I’m curious about what the must-see attractions are during each season. Have any of you been to Shimla during different times of the year? When did you find the city to be at its most captivating?

Late spring is pretty awesome in Shimla! Everything’s blooming, and the weather’s just nice enough to explore without feeling too hot or too cold. I’ve been there in both spring and early autumn, and honestly, I loved the vibe in spring for the greenery, but autumn has that beautiful foliage that’s also stunning. Both have their charm!

I went to Shimla last autumn and it was stunning! The weather was perfect for walking around, and the foliage was just gorgeous. If you can swing it, late September to early October feels like the sweet spot for great views and fewer crowds.
