What’s the best time to visit Hawk Mountain?

I’ve been thinking about planning a trip to Hawk Mountain, especially since I love immersing myself in nature away from the crowds. I’ve read about the different seasons there, but I’m curious about when the scenery is at its best. Is spring the prime time for wildlife spotting, or does fall’s colorful foliage take the top spot?

Since I prefer a slower pace when I travel, I want to choose a time that balances exploration with relaxation. Are there specific months that are ideal for hiking and birdwatching? Also, how can I avoid the crowds? Are there certain weeks or days that are quieter?

I’d love to hear any tips or experiences from those who have visited. What did you find worked best for your visit?

Fall is definitely stunning with all the colors, but if you’re into birdwatching, late spring can be amazing too. I went in early May last year, and there were tons of birds around with fewer people than in fall. Maybe try planning a weekday trip? It felt way quieter than the weekends.
