When is the best time to visit Myrtle Beach, SC?

Thinking about a trip to Myrtle Beach? Timing can make a big difference! While summer is often considered the peak season for beach fun, it also brings larger crowds and steeper prices.

Spring and fall could be ideal alternatives, with more manageable weather and fewer visitors. However, do the beaches remain just as enjoyable during these seasons? I’d love to hear about any local festivals or events that might be worth planning a visit around. What’s your experience with different times of the year in Myrtle Beach? Any recommendations for the best travel dates?

I’ve been to Myrtle Beach in early June and loved it—warm enough for swimming but not packed like peak summer. There are some fun festivals in the fall, like the Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival, if you’re into food and music. Spring is nice too, and you can catch the local farmers market starting up in April!

I’ve been to Myrtle Beach in both early spring and late fall, and honestly, it’s super nice then! The weather is still pretty warm, and there are way fewer people, so it’s easier to find a good spot on the beach. I’ve also caught a few local seafood festivals around that time, which were really fun and tasty!
