When is the Best Time to Visit the Louvre to Avoid Crowds?

Planning a trip to the Louvre can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re trying to dodge the large crowds. With so much to see, knowing the best time to visit can really enhance your experience. I’ve heard that certain months are better for avoiding tourist throngs, but I’m not sure which ones to consider for 2026.

For those who have been recently, when did you find the least amount of people at the museum? Are there particular days of the week or specific times of day that worked well for you? I’m also curious if visiting early in the morning is worth the extra effort. I’d love to hear any tips for making the most of the visit while still enjoying some quiet moments in the museum.

I went last month on a Wednesday morning and it was pretty mellow. I heard early openings can be less crowded too, so maybe hit it right when they open? A little extra sleep might be worth skipping the crowds!

I went in early September and it was way quieter than I expected! If you can hit it right when they open, around 9 AM, you’ll beat most of the crowds. Have you thought about visiting during the weekdays instead of weekends?
