When Should I Visit the Van Gogh Museum on a Short Trip?

I’m planning a quick trip to Amsterdam soon, and visiting the Van Gogh Museum is definitely on my agenda. I’ve heard that the timing of your visit can really enhance the experience, especially when it comes to avoiding crowds and enjoying the exhibits to the fullest.

For those who have been, what’s the best time of year to explore the museum? I’ve read that weekdays are generally less crowded, but I’m curious if there’s a particular season when the art looks especially beautiful. Spring sounds lovely with all the flowers blooming around the city, but does that attract more tourists to the museum? I’d love to hear about your experiences with crowd levels and overall enjoyment. Any timing tips you could share would be great!

Spring is popular, but it can get super crowded, especially with all the tulip stuff happening. I went in late fall once, and it was way less busy and still pretty nice. Plus, the exhibition changes often, so checking what’s on display might help you decide!
