As I plan my travels for this year, I’m excited to explore annual literary festivals around the globe. There are so many to choose from, and I’m looking for recommendations that truly capture the essence of local culture. Since I’m based in Los Angeles and often consider Portugal as a destination, I’d love to align my travels with these events.

I’ve heard wonderful things about the Lisbon Book Fair and the International Literature Festival in Berlin, but I’m interested in discovering any hidden gems you all might know about. If you’re looking for a hidden gem, the Porto Book Fair in Portugal is pretty awesome. It’s smaller than Lisbon, but the vibe is super cozy and you really feel the local culture. Plus, it’s usually set up in some beautiful historic spots, which makes it feel special. Definitely worth checking out!
